Hey, it is Alberto Reina Delgado! I am 23 years old, and I am a student. My Erasmus Plus experience in Altamura, Italy, was undoubtedly one of the most enriching and unforgettable of my life. The project, called «FOOD REVOLUTION,» immersed us fully in Italian culinary tradition, especially in the reparation of tomato sauce. Throughout our stay, we worked as a team to make the sauce, bottle it, label it, and finally sell it during a special event at the end
of the project.
This event was not only an opportunity to share our work but also a space to showcase other
talents. I participated in a play that we prepared with other teammates, and I also had the
chance to sing and play the guitar in front of everyone, making that day even more special
and memorable.
In addition, we had the opportunity to cook traditional Spanish dishes ourselves, allowing us
to share our culinary culture with the other participants. It was a fun and enriching experience
where we could proudly present our gastronomic identity. On another day, our Italian hosts
taught us how to make homemade pasta, which brought us even closer to their traditions and
allowed us to enjoy an authentic meal we had prepared with our own hands.
But beyond the activities, what I truly take away from this experience is the people. I made
many friends, sharing laughter, learning, and unforgettable moments. The hospitality of the
Italians was incredible, always willing to help and make us feel at home. I also highlight the
bond we built with the African participants in the project, with whom we shared a great
atmosphere and mutual respect that broke any cultural barriers.
On top of that, I had the opportunity to explore some of the gems of southern Italy. We visited
Altamura, famous for its bread and rich history, the magical city of Matera with its ancient
cave dwellings, and Bari, a lively coastal city full of culture.
In summary, the Erasmus Plus experience in Altamura not only allowed me to learn about
Italian food and culture but also gave me invaluable human experiences. It was, without a
doubt, an unforgettable adventure.
Hola, soy Alberto Reina Delgado! Tengo 23 años y soy estudiante. Mi experiencia Erasmus Plus en Altamura, Italia, fue sin duda una de las más enriquecedoras e inolvidables de mi vida. El proyecto, llamado “FOOD REVOLUTION”, nos sumergió de lleno en la tradición culinaria
italiana, especialmente en la preparación de la salsa de tomate. Durante toda nuestra estancia, trabajamos en equipo para elaborar la salsa, embotellarla, etiquetarla y finalmente venderla durante un evento especial al final
del proyecto. Este evento no solo fue una oportunidad para compartir nuestro trabajo sino también un espacio para mostrar otros
talentos. Participé en una obra de teatro que preparamos con otros compañeros de equipo, y también tuve la oportunidad de cantar y tocar la guitarra frente a todos, haciendo ese día aún más especial y memorable. Además, tuvimos la oportunidad de cocinar nosotros mismos platos tradicionales españoles, lo que nos permitió
compartir nuestra cultura culinaria con los demás participantes. Fue una experiencia divertida y enriquecedora donde pudimos presentar con orgullo nuestra identidad gastronómica. Otro día, nuestros anfitriones italianos nos enseñaron a hacer pasta casera, lo que nos acercó aún más a sus tradiciones y nos permitió disfrutar de una comida auténtica que habíamos preparado con nuestras propias manos.
Pero más allá de las actividades, lo que realmente me llevo de esta experiencia es la gente. Hice
muchos amigos, compartí risas, aprendizajes y momentos inolvidables. La hospitalidad de los
italianos fue increíble, siempre dispuestos a ayudar y hacernos sentir como en casa. También destaco el
vínculo que construimos con los participantes africanos del proyecto, con quienes compartimos un gran ambiente y respeto mutuo que rompió cualquier barrera cultural.
Además, tuve la oportunidad de explorar algunas de las joyas del sur de Italia. Visitamos Altamura, famosa por su pan y su rica historia, la mágica ciudad de Matera con sus antiguas viviendas en cuevas, y Bari, una ciudad costera llena de cultura y vida.
En resumen, la experiencia Erasmus Plus en Altamura no solo me permitió aprender sobre la comida y la cultura italiana sino que también me brindó experiencias humanas invaluables. Fue, sin
duda, una aventura inolvidable.
