My ESC experience in Puente Genil has been, overall, very positive and has been an important step in both my personal and professional growth.
I worked in a school, and my daily contact with the children gave me so much. Thanks to them, I learned a lot, not only from a professional point of view but also on a personal level. This experience helped me understand myself better and, most importantly, gave me a much clearer vision of my future. Before coming here, I had many doubts about the path I wanted to follow, but now my goals are much clearer, and I am truly grateful for having had this opportunity.
Another aspect that I will always carry with me is the energy of Andalusia. I really felt in love with the atmosphere, the lifestyle, and the warmth of the people. I have become very attached to this region, and once I finish my university studies, I would love to come back and live here, also because now I perfectly manage the spanish language.
Of course, there were also some less positive aspects. Living in a small town like Puente Genil made me realize that this kind of lifestyle is probably not the best fit for me. I had the impression that, in a close-knit community, people tend to be very interested in each other’s lives, and that is something I personally find difficult to relate to. In addition, I found the transport connections with other cities a bit limited, making it less convenient to travel and explore the surrounding areas.
Despite these challenges, I consider this experience incredibly valuable. It helped me grow, become more aware of myself, and confirmed how important it is to step outside your comfort zone, discover new cultures, meet new people, and learn more about yourself.

Mi experiencia en el Cuerpo Europeo de Solidaridad en Puente Genil ha sido, en general, muy positiva y ha supuesto un paso importante en mi crecimiento personal y profesional.
Trabajé en una escuela y el contacto diario con los niños me aportó muchísimo. Gracias a ellos, aprendí mucho, no solo a nivel profesional, sino también personal. Esta experiencia me ayudó a comprenderme mejor y, sobre todo, me dio una visión mucho más clara de mi futuro. Antes de venir aquí, tenía muchas dudas sobre el camino que quería seguir, pero ahora mis objetivos están mucho más definidos y estoy profundamente agradecida por haber tenido esta oportunidad.
Otro aspecto que siempre llevaré conmigo es la energía de Andalucía. Me enamoré del ambiente, del estilo de vida y de la calidez de la gente. Me he encariñado mucho con esta región y, cuando termine mis estudios universitarios, me encantaría volver a vivir aquí, también porque ahora domino perfectamente el español.
Por supuesto, también hubo algunos aspectos menos positivos. Vivir en un pueblo pequeño como Puente Genil me hizo darme cuenta de que este estilo de vida probablemente no sea el más adecuado para mí. Tuve la impresión de que, en una comunidad tan unida, la gente tiende a interesarse mucho por la vida de los demás, y eso es algo con lo que personalmente me cuesta identificarme. Además, las conexiones de transporte con otras ciudades me parecieron algo limitadas, lo que dificultaba viajar y explorar los alrededores.
A pesar de estos desafíos, considero esta experiencia increíblemente valiosa. Me ayudó a crecer, a conocerme mejor y a confirmar lo importante que es salir de la zona de confort, descubrir nuevas culturas, conocer gente nueva y aprender más sobre uno mismo.
