Mi nombre es Marta Baena, tengo 24 años y soy maestra de Educación Primaria. Este año he tenido la increíble oportunidad de ser voluntaria en el
proyecto “Road to Participation” durante 7 meses, una experiencia que ha sido realmente enriquecedora tanto a nivel profesional como personal.
El proyecto comenzó justo cuando había finalizado mis estudios universitarios y regresaba de haber vivido un año en el extranjero. En ese momento, pensaba que era hora de adentrarme en el mundo laboral, pero apareció esta maravillosa oportunidad de voluntariado, que me permitió seguir creciendo y
explorar un nuevo camino en el ámbito educativo.
Este camino estaba muy alineado con mis objetivos profesionales, ya que deseo trabajar en un colegio. Sin embargo, el voluntariado me permitió abordar
esta vocación desde otra perspectiva, formándome en áreas clave que complementarán mi futuro como docente.
Mi labor en el colegio consistió en apoyar en el aula específica, donde desempeñé funciones como monitora, ayudando al alumnado con necesidades
educativas especiales. Además, participé en actividades de inclusión en el aula ordinaria, facilitando la integración y el apoyo personalizado a los estudiantes.
La otra parte del voluntariado tenía lugar en el comedor, donde desempeñaba un rol de apoyo y supervisión. Mi labor en este espacio consistía en asegurar que el ambiente fuera adecuado para todos los alumnos, promoviendo la convivencia y el respeto mutuo.
En resumen, mi experiencia como voluntaria en el proyecto “Road to participation” ha sido profundamente transformadora. No solo me ha permitido ampliar mis habilidades y conocimientos en el ámbito educativo, sino también fortalecer mi capacidad para trabajar con alumnos con necesidades especiales y en contextos diversos. He aprendido el valor de la paciencia, la empatía y la
flexibilidad, cualidades que sin duda llevaré conmigo a mi carrera como docente.
Estoy muy agradecida por haber tenido esta oportunidad, ya que me ha acercado más a mi objetivo de ser una maestra capaz de ofrecer una
enseñanza inclusiva, innovadora y centrada en el bienestar integral de cada alumno.
My name is Marta Baena, I am 24 years old and I am a Primary Education teacher. This year I have had the incredible opportunity to volunteer in the “Road to Participation” project for 7 months, an experience that has been truly enriching both professionally and personally.
The project began just when I had finished my university studies and I was returning from living abroad for a year. At that time, I thought
it was time to enter the world of work, but this
wonderful volunteering opportunity appeared, which allowed me to continue growing and
explore a new path in the educational field.
This path was very much in line with my professional goals, since I want to work in a school. However, volunteering allowed me to approach
this vocation from another perspective, training me in key areas that will complement my future as a teacher.
My work at the school consisted of supporting in the specific classroom, where I served as a monitor, helping students with special educational
needs. In addition, I participated in inclusion activities in the regular classroom, facilitating integration and personalized support for students.
The other part of volunteering took place in the cafeteria, where I played a supporting and supervisory role. My job in this space was to ensure
that the environment was suitable for all students, promoting coexistence and mutual respect.
In short, my experience as a volunteer in the “Road to Participation” project has been deeply transformative. It has not only allowed me to
expand my skills and knowledge in the educational field, but also strengthen my ability to work with students with special needs and in diverse contexts. I have learned the value of patience, empathy, and
flexibility, qualities that I will undoubtedly take with me to my career as a teacher.
I am very grateful to have had this opportunity, as it has brought me closer to my goal of being a teacher capable of offering inclusive, innovative teaching focused on the comprehensive well-being of each student.
